Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of loveaskingwhy.com and any related pages, forms, and communications (the “Service”), operated by Always Questioning LLC (“we,” “us”). By using the Service or submitting anything to us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Love Asking Why is a publication of questions and their answers. Readers may submit questions, which we may answer as essays or reports written by us or by invited contributors. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service or submit anything to us. The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.
3. Your submissions
When you send a question, pitch, or other material (a “Submission”), you keep ownership of it. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, excerpt, translate, publish, display, and distribute the Submission, in whole or in part, in the publication and in promotion of the publication, in any media now known or later developed.
You represent that the Submission is yours to share, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and does not infringe anyone’s rights or violate any law. We may edit Submissions for length and clarity, decline to publish, or remove them at any time. We are under no obligation to publish, respond to, or compensate you for a Submission unless we agree otherwise in writing. If you provide your first name, we may use it to credit you; tell us if you prefer to remain anonymous.
4. Quest writers
Invited contributors (“quest writers”) and their pieces (“Quests”) may be governed by a separate written agreement covering rights, credit, and any compensation. Pitching to be a quest writer does not create any obligation on our part.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to submit or transmit anything that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or malicious, and not to disrupt, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
6. Our content
The Service and its content, including essays, reports, the name “Love Asking Why,” the logo, the tagline, text, and design, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to read and share our content with attribution and a link. All other rights are reserved.
7. AI and automated use of our content
We reserve all rights in our content, including the right to prohibit its use for training, fine-tuning, or grounding artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems, and for text and data mining, without our prior written permission. Automated scraping or bulk downloading of the Service is not permitted.
8. Newsletter
Our newsletter is delivered through Beehiiv, and Beehiiv’s terms and privacy policy also apply when you subscribe or read there. You can unsubscribe at any time.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on and links to third parties (for example, form and hosting providers and Beehiiv). We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their terms.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and its content are provided for general interest and information only. They reflect opinions and inquiry, not professional advice, and nothing here is legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your Submissions, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and material changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
