Love Asking Why
Wonder, out loud.
A publication of questions and their answers. You bring the question. It gets answered in full, as an essay or a report.
Some questions deserve more than a quick take
There is a question you keep coming back to. Bring it here. Love Asking Why takes a real question and answers it in full: by us, by an invited quest writer, or by an expert in the field whose mind fits it. No hot takes. No manufactured certainty. A question, taken seriously, and followed wherever it leads.

Why do we cry when we're happy?
The strange grammar of joy, and what your tears are quietly doing for you.
There is a kind of crying that has nothing to do with sadness. It arrives at weddings, at reunions in airports, at the sight of a baby so new that something in your chest gives way. You are not sad. By every honest measure you are happy. And still your eyes fill.
The short answer is that the face is not a reliable narrator of the heart. Psychologists call the mismatch a dimorphous expression, a strong feeling wearing the costume of its opposite, and it may be quietly doing something kind for you.

Some questions call for more than the page. We sit an expert down and put your question to them, then follow the answer wherever it goes. The same depth, the same calm, now with a face and a voice. New interviews arrive as the questions find the right minds.
